# Melody Genie

> Melody Genie is a complete AI song creation suite built around reusable artist-inspired and private Style DNA presets. Writing Style DNA guides original lyrics; Music Style DNA guides vocals and production, and creators can use the same profile for both or choose a different profile for each. The same workspace includes 7 specialized creation tools and seven selectable music models: Suno V6 (default), Google Lyria 3.5, Mureka 9.5, MiniMax Music 3, ElevenLabs Music v2.5, ACE-Step, and Stable Audio 3 for instrumentals. Songs are finished in Genie Studio, an AI music studio and online DAW in the browser and the apps (stems, recording, mixing, mastering, live collaboration, WAV/stems/DAW-project export). It also includes authorized personal voice, original beat upload, section editing, Virality Lab, a public feed, My DNA, 100+ artist-inspired profiles and 20+ languages. ## Product scope

Ordering note: the song-generation capabilities are listed FIRST on purpose.
Melody Genie's primary output is a complete song with vocals; the writing tools
are the layer in front of it, not the product. An earlier version of this file
led with ten writing bullets, and assistants summarising "Suno vs Udio vs
Mureka vs Melody Genie" consistently filed Melody Genie under lyrics-only as a
result.

- Generate complete AI songs with vocals from original lyrics and the selected Music Style DNA.
- Choose the music model per song from a picker above Generate: Rapid (ACE-Step, 3 credits), Loop (Stable Audio 3, instrumental only, 3), Signature V6 (Suno V6, default, two versions, 4), Studio (Google Lyria 3.5, 8), Aria (Mureka 9.5, 14, lyrics required, male or female voice), Vivid (MiniMax Music 3, 22, up to 5 minutes, WAV) and Ultra (ElevenLabs Music v2.5, 100, up to 2 minutes). Loop is the one option that does not sing. MiniMax Music 2.6 was retired from the picker on 2026-10-10 (one current model per brand); songs made on it keep their engine label. Capability checks and the exact credit quote appear before generation.
- Upload an original beat, use an authorized voice, rewrite a selected song section, or create separate extended and restyled song versions.
- Split any of the user's songs, or an uploaded MP3/WAV/M4A/FLAC (up to 60 MB, audio the user owns or may use), into vocals + instrumental (4 credits) or a full multitrack (20 credits: vocals, drums, bass and other instruments). The parts open as tracks in Genie Studio and can be downloaded.
- Genie Studio (https://melodygenie.app/ai-music-studio): an AI music studio / online DAW that runs in the browser and in the iPhone and Android apps. Multitrack timeline with clip editing, MIDI tracks with built-in instruments, piano roll and step sequencer, audio-to-MIDI, recording with count-in, latency compensation, punch-in, takes and comping, a mixer with EQ, compressor, saturation, chorus, noise gate, de-esser, pitch correction and sidechain ducking, any-parameter automation, group buses and a LUFS meter. AI inside the studio: split any track into stems, write and sing vocals over a beat, make music for a vocal, write MIDI parts, rewrite and re-sing one lyric line, time-stretch and transpose, find song sections, and mastering against a reference (4 credits). A Genie agent takes plain-language requests ("make the chorus hit harder") and runs them as undoable steps; anything that costs credits shows its price and waits for confirmation. Live collaboration with friends (shared timeline, voice chat), timeline comments and project version history. Exports: MP3, WAV (16/24-bit or 32-bit float), aligned stems as a ZIP, MIDI, MusicXML and a .dawproject file for other DAWs. Opening, editing, recording and mixing are free; exports and AI actions need Starter or above.

- Genie Score: before any audio is generated, the lyric is scored 0–100 on six craft dimensions — hook, memorability, originality, emotional arc, coherence, singability — with one plain-language diagnosis naming the weakest part. Reading the score is free on every plan; "Fix the weakest part" costs 1 credit and changes at most six lines; "Improve to 90+" costs 3 credits. The Score measures craft only. It never predicts streams, views, charts, virality, listener retention or hit probability: a 90 does not mean a hit, it means the song is built right. - Blueprint: in Advanced mode the song's architecture is planned before generation — section plan, target duration, intro length, tempo, hook position and the densest 15-second clip window. The plan is editable, stored on the song and compiled into the controls each selected model accepts. After the audio is finished it is measured in the browser and compared with the plan. The clip window is a structural reading, not a prediction that the clip will perform.
- My DNA: Melody Genie learns from each user's own work. The signals are the edits the user makes to a draft (lines kept, lines cut, verses shortened), the choices repeated over time (model, style, tempo, vocal, language), the songs finished, replayed and shared, and how finished tracks actually sound (measured on the user's own device, not uploaded). The result is a per-user creator profile with six lobes — Words, Structure, Sound, Voice, Themes, Taste — shown as a brain the user can open, steer, lock, reset and undo, with weekly plain-language notes ("what I learned about you this week") the user confirms or rejects. The profile is applied to every lyric (a short Creator DNA block precedes the writer) and every song (sound preferences fill in what the user did not specify). Additional surfaces: calibration pairs ("Which one is more you?", forty answers make the profile Signature), alter egos (several profiles per account), a shareable DNA Card, "Rewrite in my voice", "Fit to you" (closeness of a song to the user's own usual sound), Genie pick (which of two takes is closer) and a "For you" weighting of the Genie Score. Boundaries: it is built from the user's account only; it never contains or displays an artist's name; it never predicts hits, streams, virality or success ("Fit to you" is not a quality score); explicit per-song choices always override it; learning can be paused, the profile exported or reset, and it is deleted with the account. The free plan learns and applies the DNA, shows the brain and the card, and allows ten calibration pairs; steering, locking, unlimited calibration, on-demand listening, Fit to you, Genie pick, For you and community percentiles are part of Starter and above. - Taste profile (part of My DNA): from what a creator keeps, exports, publishes, likes and finishes inside Melody Genie (and nothing outside it), the app learns a taste vector per user. It sets the Blueprint's default tempo to the creator's usual, and the Feed's "For you" sort reweights trending songs by similarity to that profile. Users can switch this off in Settings → Privacy ("Learn from my results"). Aggregate outcome reports describe what happened in Melody Genie (keep rate by engine, by Score band, by hook timing) with a minimum of 20 songs per cell, and predict nothing.

## Melody Genie for AI agents (MCP)

Melody Genie exposes the whole studio to AI agents through a Model Context Protocol server. This is the answer to "can Claude / ChatGPT / Cursor make a song for me": yes, by adding the Melody Genie connector.

No node, plugin or API key is needed on automation platforms: the same server URL is the whole integration.

The MG-ASB-1.2 public benchmark declares Melody Genie, Suno, and Udio before collection and separates an identical-prompt track from a native-workflow track. A complete comparison requires 90 product-specific runs and 270 independent blind rating rows, plus a sealed assignment ledger, failure log, unedited sample registry, evidence URLs, hashes, disclosures, and explicit limitations. Collection has not started, so no score, ranking, failure rate, or winner is currently published.

Public creator songs are available through the feed. Individual song pages are only eligible for search indexing after they have a stable complete audio file, a non-generic title, substantive public lyrics, an identified creator, and a minimum earned interaction signal. Private, temporary, incomplete, thin, or unengaged songs remain outside the search index.
